Why do conservatives suddenly think they're on the right side of history? Every right they have was won by progressives of the time period.

Hate and fear of change are insanely powerful emotions. People will go to the ends of the earth and start wars to protect what they think shouldn’t happen or shouldn’t change. It’s how it’s ALWAYS been. They were even making ‘triggered feminist’ wojacks during the suffragette era

I wanted to say something about this also so thank you. Exactly, cancer can appear literally anywhere that there is the potential for cell replication, and every “version” of it has to be treated (if there’s a treatment) in different specific ways

Maybe because we’re not sending people to prison without committing crimes, because we offer things like medical care to people who need it, because we didn’t try to overthrow the government when we lost, because we believe in providing a good education for our children, because we want to allow people to live their lives with freedom, so they can love who they want, practice what religion they want, and be who they want in all ways, I could go on but I’m running out of characters to type.

I kinda just wanted 1 thing so I can respond at a time. The people we are sending to prison do commit crimes. And if u are refer to deportation, then they’re here illegally. Yes y’all want to offer things like free healthcare but it doesn’t work because it’s not actually free. Socialized healthcare sucks in other counties that’s why they’ll come to USA and just pay the cost rather than wait. The other things we allow too so not sure what you’re talking about.

Because most of the money spent on that research was being wasted and not doing anything for the actual problem.

Didn’t know there was a difference between child and adult cancer. That didn’t get cut. Cancer is cancer. That research would still benefit the kids

Not really. Childhood and adult onset cancers typically have different genetic causes and mechanisms. Your comment is the perfect illustration of why dumb fucks with no medical or scientific expertise should not be making these decisions.

Ahh yes so let’s defend removing a ton of research and not redistributing it into similar supposedly better research, but instead use the money for blinging out the White House, paying for trumps golden jet, his golf courses in dictatorial states, and illegally deporting what’s essentially countless legal and not guilty immigrants for simply wanting to come to the US and having a single letter wrong in their immigration forms…

It says the charities were shuttered in 2016. Why cut the funds now if that issue was already addressed?

Not saying cancer isn’t an actual problem. I obviously want cancer to be cured and people affected to be treated. But if foundations are getting too much money they start wasting money on other shit that’s not cancer research then cutting funds forces them to be more efficient with the funds.

You asked me if we should continue to spend money or focus on ACTUAL problems. If cancer is an actual problem then why are you okay with gutting the funds that help go into how to treat an actual problem? Actual cancer research scientists have been laid off since this happened, is that something you support?

IF they’ve been wasting money and only IF. You’ve proven they haven’t made as much headway as other scientific study fields but cancer is known as ONE OF THE HARDEST AFFLICTION TO TREAT, it’s easy for you to just claim that they should be able to work faster and better but do you even have proof or a reason to believe and claim that of those scientists?

It’s more profitable to treat cancer than to cure it. They already have a cure but won’t release it or else all that funding stops.

To be honest, in our current economic system, #1 is right. There is an incentive to withhold cures. If a cure is found, it is likely to be withheld for profit motive-rooted reasons, sad as it is

Likely at first glance, then consider the fall out for exposure and then the likely hood of it in today’s age if surveillance, and the chance that a third party finds the same cure and publishes it anyways. Planned obsolescence IS a thing in manufacturing but with the stakes of human lives on the line it’s simply impossible now, someone would find out/tell/slip up

No because big pharma can also say that the “cure” wasn’t ready or tested enough yet. And If someone ever whistleblows about a cure nobody will believe them

Then why has nobody had any evidence at all? Not even an inkling of the direction to go? How long has this cure been known for and why hasn’t anyone else found it as well? Why hasn’t an enemy power used this astronomical coverup against the government? How hasn’t there been a single person who leaked the physical cure and not a single person noticed or researched the leaked cure at all? Your conspiracy has more holes than it fills, a sure sign it’s “ocean worthy” I’m sure

You clearly don’t understand how cancer works. For there to be a drug to cure cancer means they’d need to make a drug for each individual person. Cancer isn’t a virus or bacteria that we can kill. It’s us. It’s human cells that read for that specific persons dna. It’s incredibly hard to create a medicine to kill cancer but to not also kill the healthy cells that have the same exact dna
