Blue pushed a border bill that would’ve increased detentions, expanded the wall, given POTUS the ability to close ports of entry and asylum, AND streamline green card processing. Republicans shot it down so Trump could run on the border issue. You’re too emotional to talk about that

Not true. The border bill was packed with pork and unrelated Democrat wishlist items. It was all complete political theater, considering that and the fact that legislation is NOT required to secure the border, as Trump demonstrated during his first term. He declared an emergency. If the democrats really wanted to fix the problem, they wouldn’t have bothered with a pork bill and gone straight to work.

The border bill was bipartisan btw. Like created by both sides. Also the main issue with immigration is the application for green cards has a multi-YEAR long queue. If your complaint is those people being here illegally, they are not. They just have to declare asylum, can file for a green card within a year, become a permanent resident if it’s approved (which is the longest part), then apply for citizenship after 4 years.

Again, there was no need for any kind of bill whatsoever. Just declare an emergency at the border and allocate funding to it. If they actually cared, they would have done that and not put republicans in a catch-22 between having to vote for a “bipartisan bill” which gave democrats a whole bunch of unrelated policy wins, or refuse to pass it and be branded as “not wanting to fix immigration”. And you fell for all of it.

That border bill would have closed a legal grey area. Also, read the damn legislation dawg. There was funding for the wall and expedition of construction in there, AOC was pissed about it. Trump also declares a state of emergency on everything so it’s kinda meaningless. Is gas being a bit costly a state of emergency? You guys love to call COVID a hoax, but guess who declared the state of emergency?

Dude the democrats were NOT pissed about it, they wanted republicans not to sign it, because It made them look good without having to actually do anything to fix the border. Biden was literally auctioning off border wall material at a bargain price after Trump won re-election, they never cared about border security. It was all optics for the election.
