It’s not “his” parade it’s a parade for the army’s 250th anniversary. It just so happens to fall on his birthday.

They’re doing it to honor past and current members who served.

bull shit. that feels so intentional that he spends millions of dollars on a parade conveniently for the military that is ACCIDENTALLY on his bday

why have a loud showy parade when he could have applied that money to homeless veteran programs and spent the other small portion on a little parade

Dude the army was established June 14th 1775. Trumps birthday just so happens to be June 14. It’s 250 years old, he didn’t just decide their anniversary.

I didnt say he decided the anniversary I said he decided to spend such a large amount of money which is suspicious considering that he has shit on veterans before and he yearns for the king title. Wouldnt an educated individual want to allocate the money to things that actually help veterans rather than hosting a parade

You. wanna justify this one? “I like people who weren’t captured.” – referring to John McCain (2015)

Oh my god a nationwide project so you mean thay the people who 1.) attend the parade could do community work and provide manpower and resources to homelessness and 2.) the money could have been allocated to resources for homeless vets such as doctors and therapists?

1.) Does one individual veteran live forever? The people who attend the parade will have only done so once. Why not use them as volunteers and encourage future community engagement? 2.) Allocating taxpayer dollars consistently towards the issue could act as a “for the rest of time” situation

Well I highly doubt both community volunteers could reach so far in the area and not many veterans who would need or want help would be able to travel to the parade so it’s not really “nationwide”

My point is that the parade should have basically been non existent. Asshole trump should have focused on funding volunteer incentive programs and kickstarting veteran support. Veterans who want and need help could go to volunteers in each county and made a massive impact with that amount of money
