I’m literally in the same boat. Parents sitting on millions of cash. Only thing they ever did was buy me a cheap car. I’m in crippling debt bc they don’t help out and i have to pay for everything. I get my inheritance when i’m in my 40s. I hate boomers

Yea the $20k plus of CC debt really just tells you this person is fiscally irresponsible, especially since they’re now paying it down

The person could be responsible and just had some unfortunate things happen in life. You don’t know if it’s medical, housing, or they lost their job and couldn’t find another, so they had to live off credit cards for a bit. It doesn’t mean they were out partying and living it up.

All that’s irrelevant bc CC debt is the absolute worst thing to live on if any of that stuff happens, also I kinda know none of that stuff happened bc it’s a Reddit post so if it did happen they would milk it to karma farm, also being fiscally irresponsible doesn’t mean that you were partying it up, it means you were living outside of what you can afford, it’s usually self-inflicted and a lack of knowledge about personal finance but it’s still this person’s problem not their parent

i’m not acting entitled.. he’s it’s true they worked to get that but also they brought me into this world so if i’m suffering and miserable everyday for things they can easily change it’s kinda their responsibility. They kicked me out as soon as i turned 18. i’ve had nights during my freshman year when i was unemployed and went the entire day without eating and meanwhile they’re at expensive restaurants and refuse to help me
