wait why is my twitter full of people calling the Late Show cancellation the start of media suppression??? the show has been unprofitable for at least 3 years and no one watched late night shows anymore 😭

Because CBS folded when Trump told them to settle in a lawsuit they easily could have won, and he criticized it, which was met with cancellation. If you can’t make fun of a country’s leader on TV without consequences, then your country’s not really free. And to your second point, The Late Show is the highest rated late night show.

it’s lost over $40 million annually for the last 3 years. ratings don’t mean anything if no one is watching. the shows i love get cancelled all the time. they just didn’t get the views
