The current admin, is destroying my dreams. I was set to graduate this December, I've worked two jobs the entire time to save up to start my dream business. The Tarrifs have turned my dreams impossible, destroying the margins

28.6% ownership, isn't widespread.

Lol it definitely wasn’t the 21 percent inflation that happened under Biden.

No, it's literally the materials I need cannot be produced in America, and are not. I can't afford 30k in fees on materials, it's fucking braindead

The tooling I'd need to produce my parts myself, would cost millions, which I don't have. The profit margin is now substantially more limited as well, as it's more expensive to produce it, than it is to use parts from the Cold War and world war 2, so no, it wasn't Biden

I’m sure you will find another genius business model that doesn’t involve on importing cheap materials.

It's not cheap material, it's historical restoration and preservation, of historic firearm parts, and it's been my dream since I was younger. This isn't about basic finances, this is my dream, and functional history, worth preserving. I can't even made reproductions without spending a million minimum on just equipment. The fact you think, this is simply about money, shows your character's content

You just said it destroyed your margins so it’s literally all about money. Go start a business just for the money and use it to fund your dream business.

Need margins to sustain a business, profit isn't my primary motivator.

Also, it's not even necessarily about cheaper materials, it's about correct materials. Arctic Birch, can't be grown here. I need said wood

Then move to whereever it can be grown and sell it there.

I can't assemble the final product there, legally. Unless you are painfully unaware, The US is the only country where firearms are widespread, I need arctic birch to do proper restoration, with the correct materials. Trump, is killing small American businesses like mine.

You can go to Switzerland. They have a similar ratio of firearms to people and you can grow arctic birch there. Problem solved.

You could also grow it in Alaska.

Except, ownership is limited to Swiss citizenship, and cost of living is substantially higher. I'm also contractually obligated to the United States government for the next 3 years, as a Reservist, so, no. I'm writing my representatives as we speak, to speak out against the bill that caused this, it's ridiculous and strangling American businesses, particularly small ones. This is not in our favor, it only hurts the small businesses.

You said us is only country where firearms are widespread which wasn’t a true statement so why would I believe anything you say?

Except, it's not as widespread in Switzerland 54.5 guns per 100 people, where as there are 120 per 100, in america, over double. So your statement, is actually in factual

I would classify that as widespread still. Not same level but it’s fair to say firearms are widespread there, at least compared to their neighbors.

This guys whole life, his dream, is actively going down the toilet because of this administration’s policies. Rather than try to understand or empathize, or even to recognize how these things are harming the American people in general, you’re arguing over fucking semantics. The point is they shouldn’t have to jump through all these hoops or completely uproot their life in order to do what they want, which would’ve been entirely possible less than a year ago. Tf is wrong with you dawg?

2 years ago I struggled even going to school with the gas prices. Rn gas is so cheap I can do so much now.

Regardless of the truthfulness of that, or the numerous other factors that played into that, what exactly does that have to do with this situation?

Biden era policies made it harder to achieve my dreams of going to school and affording food and gasoline to live my life. The fact this is comparable to not being able to make firearms or something with a specific type of wood is such nonsense and affects a very small minority of people while gas prices affects everyone.

Covid and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine were the driving factors in those costs rising, if anything Biden’s policies mitigated the damage. Not by much unfortunately, and maybe he could have done better. But you’d think that that experience would help you to empathize with other people experiencing something similar. I personally couldn’t afford school this semester after the republican changes to funding for higher ed. It’s still affecting everyone, arguably even worse

I wouldn’t know I don’t have any loans or debt for school so far. I just know I could barely survive in 2023 and 2022 with the prices while Biden was in office. And I honestly don’t care about whoever’s dream this is you can just wait a while and things will normalize. It’s not like people need to start this highly specific niche business right away.

“Wait a while and things will normalize” dude the point is that I want to be able to get an education, and this guy wants to start his business, and millions of other people want to do millions of different things. If this administration’s policies are directly harming the general public, then the are bad fucking policies lmao
