 I’ve realized I don’t dislike ai. I dislike how stupid people are regarding ai. How little they understand and how trustworthy they are to the corporations in charge of the ai machines they use. Esp ChatGPT/openai

Eh I just hate AI. At this point the whole idea of it has been so soured to me that even if they DO end up making it ethical somehow I don’t think I’d start to like it any more. Frankly I want generative AI to die out completely. I’m fucking sick of it.

You’re correct about how people engage with AI but also like. AI is bad for other reasons too. I think it’s an excellent tool, to be used in addition to human creativity. But replacing all thought processes and art with a computer currently controlled by marketing interests

Yeah but it’s fairly minimal in the grand scheme of energy consumers that destroy the environment. It’s worse than a google search, so we should use google vs ask chatgpt, but all data centers in the world (ai and non) only consume like 1.5% of the global energy a year. And that can easily be fixed in general if we adopted wide spread nuclear power grids to support our energy needs until we develop efficient renewable sources
