Noam Chomsky has a tendency to parrot talking points of similar unnuanced sentiment, though I know he’s a prolific and credible figure otherwise. Cornel west is a good example of a nuanced leftist thinker. I would avoid “thinkers” or rather personalities like Hasan, vaush, or other frankly stupid Internet personalities that many new to the left fall into.

Chomsky’s largest issue is his public speaking sucks total ass so he comes off stupid sometimes. While I believe sometimes hasan and vaush do it for better or worse to reach a larger audience who can have an easier goal. I cry everytime I debate vaushites about Israel Palestine and how it’s more nuanced then Israel bad Palestine good.

Yeah the high caliber public speaker is profoundly lacking in the modern political arena. Most people are informed by simple novelty of debate, appearing smart, or snubbing opponents, rather than having genuine beliefs and convictions that are downstream from higher values. That’s usually why I see “vaushites” or similar people have flip floppy views on issues like Israel Palestine

Meddi hasan imo is a pretty good speaker that’s seen as more left leaning but he’s a rare case.

Primarily is more accurate, but I find most leftists nevertheless tend to dismiss or belittle other levers of historical development
