I know most of the clothes I buy probably aren’t much better but the idea of 1000pc pajamas for $50 makes me wonder what it takes to make such a deal possible. And I’m not really liking the picture of that

I mean that’s abundance for you. The Chinese model of mass production for the people is working well to distribute decent quality clothes to every corner of the world. Elon musk talks about this concept

Such abundance though requires tons of people working extremely long hours for pretty low pay, often in not so great conditions. In order for 1000 pieces of clothing to be made at such a low cost that you can purchase all of them for $50 and the seller still makes a profit, your cost of making that clothing needs to be wildly low. Like lower than 5 cents per piece. Which means you’re probably paying people like 1-2 cents a piece to make it if that

Paying 9 year olds a dollar a week that they spent 80 hours working to make those pajamas. Of course, Apartheid Clyde would support this.
