Remember that time Georgia forced a brain dead woman to stay on life support at the family’s expense because she was pregnant? Well they removed the baby from her body and he’s 11 pounds at 6 months and hasn’t spent a day out of the hospital. Great job!

If that baby was healthy we’d be hearing the pro life trumpets BLARING and the fanfare of how this dead woman and her son are the champions of pro life. But their grotesque experiment failed so they’re trying to make you forget it ever happened

The hospital forced it more so than the state itself (lawmakers who made the antiabortion bill said it wouldn’t count, and the AG said they wouldn’t prosecute, but that’s why ambiguous medical bills are fucking dangerous and also lawmakers should stay the fuck out of medical care), and the hospital is also forcing the family to pay the entire bill for both her and the baby’s :)

Tbh 11 pounds isn’t an unheard of or insanely unhealthy weight for a six month old baby

Well it’s good to know there was some humanity involved on the part of the lawmakers, I guess,,, far too little too late tho. All this happened BECAUSE of their misinformed meddling in the first place, like you said

Exactly. They’re still the biggest at fault party bc they made the laws, but let’s not pretend the doctors didn’t neglect to provide medical care over fear of prosecution even after it was clarified they wouldn’t be. They chose to protect themselves instead of doing what’s best for their patients. They broke their oath. They did harm. And they did it for self service

I’m absolutely disgusted with the doctors even more so now, since they were told that they wouldn’t be persecuted but continued their science project anyway. What ghouls

Maybe not but most babies are out of intensive care at 6 months, even preemies

Oh yeah? How’s the dead woman feeling about her life? Did she feel valued, do you think?

Oh! Or how about her family in hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt because the hospital forcing them to do this paid for none of the treatment? Do you value their lives?

The same family that said this whole corpse-incubator situation went against both their AND her wishes. They know the value of her and the baby’s life and its only their decision that should have mattered

On a biological level the mother would be happy that her child got to see birth. And I’m pretty sure most mothers would rather their brood survive over them. Lots of animals in nature including octopuses and certain species of salmons give birth knowing it will lead to their death.

Human emotions have evolved to be much more complex that basic biological urges. They still exist but come in we are much more complex than a salmon

And if she’s brain dead, how would the family even know her wishes? Killing her and the baby only serves the family’s interests, not hers. If I were on life support, I’d want doctors to do whatever it takes to save my child, even if it meant I died. I’d be happy knowing at least we tried.

You can’t speak for a dead woman. You don’t know what a corpse would have wanted. Shame on you.

The family wanted their daughter, not the half baked fetus that she wouldn’t get to raise. Your empathy is misdirected and made up.

The woman was fucking dead you soulless assclown. They used her fucking corpse as an incubator to push a fucking political agenda. And when it didn’t work out in their favor they swept it under the rug and forced the family hundreds of thousands of dollars into debt. Pro life my ass
