If someone tells you they’re Jewish and your first response is to ask about their stance on Palestine you might be anti-Semitic

Perhaps it’s the Israeli government’s insistence that all Jewish people support Israel that’s antisemitic?

This is stupid as fuck. Am I anti-Germany if I ask a German for their opinion on the Holocaust?

You can’t blame a modern day German for the Holocaust, they weren’t alive back then

Asking for someone’s opinion on geopolitics is not putting personal responsibility on them? are you actually dumb?

Your first response to someone saying they’re German is to ask them about the Holocaust? 😭

No, but back in the 40s it was just as common as the likeliness of someone repeating that pattern with Jewish people today. It’s normal for current events to linger on people’s mind. Hearing someone is Jewish and asking about their political stance is not anti-semitic only and most likely means their social skills are shit. Not to mention delivery matters. The point is your statement is a sweeping generalization and makes you sound like an idiot.

For both statements yours and op. If it’s your first response. It is likely distasteful but saying it’s racism is absurd. People are allowed to ask questions about current events.
