Conservatism, and its impact on our culture. Like, peep this shit. Your modern day conservative teenage boy is being taught that women are essentially a different species than men, that they should be servicing you and doing physical labor for you, that they’re a goal to accomplish as a means to gain social acumen, amongst tons of other lunatic ideas. If you thought that about, like, anyone, how could you ever interact with them as if they were just another person? I certainly couldn’t.

The issue of viewing the opposite sex as another species is not a man problem solely. But the problem is disproportionately represented in dudes, for sure.

agree, gender-essentialism happens across the board but i def see more of it coming from men. one difference is that i think the essentialist view of women among almost skews more positive? like its demeaning to be thought of as submissive and your life’s work is to have babies but other things like graceful, nurturing, etc. aren’t the worst. for men it almost skews more negative like violent, angry, driven solely by sex etc. the real truth is that everyone can have any of these qualities

tbh it pisses me off bc it’s dehumanizing for both sexes. all humans are capable of a range of good and bad and you sab has damn near nothing to do with it
