It’s literally a conservative ideology of a religion. You could say the same about the Amish, a very conservative Christian sect. Same with Orthodox Jews. Not every Muslim is the same. It’s like trying to say all Muslims have the same views as ISIS or that all Christians do the same thing as the Westboro Baptist Church
Women in America weren’t allowed to vote until 1920. The vast majority didn’t work outside the home until WWII and a lot of it was Christian conservatism. Child marriage in America is also disgustingly much more common than you think. Not even just between two minors with parental consent. Pedophiles marry their groomed victims so they wouldn’t be forced to testify. Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler married a teenage girl. So did Elvis.
Also the entire point is that not all Muslims preach Sharia. It’s projecting. As you get further from the Middle East, belief in Sharia wanes. Demographics also likely change similar to America: more progressive in cities, more conservative in rural areas. Asylum seekers may be running from persecution from a religious extremist government also.
No but currently women under sharia law get punished for refusing to have sex with their husbands and in some areas they can’t even show their face ETC., they seriously are forced by law to subservient. and 9 year olds who haven’t even hit puberty yet are allowed to be married off under sharia law, its not comparable to modern day America at all
You’re right, it’s not comparable to modern day America. But it is entirely comparable to America of the 20th century. At that time, women were literally punished for refusing to have sex with their husbands. They didn’t really do face veils, but they did do child/arranged marriages of prepubescent children. It’s not comparable to modern day America because we are far more progressive. Sharia law is a conservative religious ideology.
“Conservative religious ideology” is just going strictly by a religious book. If you’re a real religious conservative you should oppose gay people from existence. Leviticus says to stone adulterers and gay people and shit. Leviticus says all sorts of things just like the supposed law of Islam. The Bible also says you can sell off your daughters and shit. So like what’s the difference? All conservative religious societies are evil.
That religious persecution I mentioned is one of the following: Either the religious group is much more extreme than their government. Think about the pilgrims, they came to the New World because they were way too extreme. Or the group is too progressive. Think about the Quakers, who believed we are responsible for recreating Eden and everyone is welcome with them. Since many Islamic governments are already quite extreme, refugees of religious persecution from Islamic nations are progressive.
Because literally the entire point of my post is that religious conservatives are scared of religious conservatives to the point of making shit up about the entire religion. Yet you’re ignorant to similar issues (both historical and present) in America whether or not it’s related to your religion or not. I haven’t even gotten started on Mormonism, it’s literally the White Christian version of practicing sharia and completely legal here
Mormonism is not a part of Christianity. And again separation of church and state which is not allowed under sharia law which is the law of Islam and also again why it’s argued that true Islam can’t assimilate into western culture. There are many reasons why people religious or not should be scared of it
They’re an offshoot of Christianity. In the same way that Christianity is just Judaism with the belief that Jesus was truly the Messiah, that is what Mormonism is to Christianity. To say that the scripture is different is a slippery slope. “Since Protestants removed the Apocrypha from canon, Catholicism is the only true sect of Christianity”
Christian’s believe that the only road to salvation is through Christ, and Mormons dont believe that. And they have a completely different holy book and holy figure that no other sect of Christianity agrees with. It’s not a slippery slope to say the scriptures are different because it’s actually just a whole different book
By that argument many sects of Christianity wouldn’t count. Catholics for instance believe you still need to follow the teachings of the Catholic Church. I.e that salvation isn’t entirely done through Christ. If they believed salvation can be done through Christ alone then surely they must believe that you don’t need to listen to the Catholic Church.
Catholicism is the belief that the Catholic Church is the one true church that Jesus created, it just asserts the churches authority. Their rules come from the Bible and from God. The difference in Protestantism and Catholicism isn’t that Christ is the savior. Mormonism is legit completely different. They believe in Jesus but not that he’s the savior, so they’re not a sect of Christianity. It’s like saying Judaism and Islam are sects of Christianity bc they believe in Jesus too
