Yeah, no one is surprised that the populist far right and the populist left have isolationism and nationalism in common.

You can be a patriot without all the interventionist tendencies

At the very least, they’re protectionist, which is one step from isolationism. They despise globalism just like the right wing populists do. That’s why there have been huge criticisms of the H1B program and outsourcing.

Then why did they establish so many global outreach programs?

There isn’t a debate here. You don’t need to grandstand.

Go read this peer reviewed journal called “Why Does Globalization Fuel Populism?” It sounds a lot like what you’re saying, but they conclude that it’s a problematic comparison to say populists are directly against globalization

I’ve read it before believe it or not. I was linked it a few years ago when I was arguing with dipshit groypers when their movement was actually alive (if it’s the one written by Colantone and Stanig). While I’m against populism myself, I’m not saying in this instance that left wing and right wing are purely the same. This is purely economical and not the identity politics of race or culture that the right needs to be successful.

lmao if you’re against populism that just means you’re evil. you literally don’t want politicians to serve the people’s interests.

Also there’s no such thing as “populist right”, conservatism is definitionally not populist. people like Tucker and Trump certainly do use populist rhetoric (because it works) but MAGA do not govern as populists, obviously.

Not really, it just means I don’t trust the masses/majority to make the best decisions. You trying to frame populism as some left-wing utopian idea just shows you don’t actually know what the fuck populism actually is.
