i disagree. i believe that, yes, America is a land of opportunity. But when my grandparents immigrated here they worked 2 jobs, worked hard in school, and took care of a family. Hard work gets you places, it shouldn’t be handed out and leisure should not be guaranteed by the federal govt
In principle I agree, but we may well find ourselves in a post scarcity world if ai sufficiently delivers across domains. If robotics is successfully integrated with ai and we see developments on fusion, vertical farming and hydroponics could substitute a large portion of agriculture (a basic need) without humans really doing the work. I don’t think anarcho syndicalism works at scale in hyper competitive violent environments like the global stage, but in an ai future it might have a shot
if we had the ability to buy a house like our grandparents did with two jobs it would be different, but it’s damn near impossible nowadays. if you want to get a high paying job you almost certainly need a college degree and you can barely pay for college and pay rent and get other necessities at the same time in today’s economy
