The government has enough money to give Argentina 40 billion dollars, buy Kristi noem a new private jet, and build a new gold plated ballroom. The debt has gone up 2 trillion dollars since January and prices for everything are going up.

Its amazing how quiet the left was on spending when Biden set a record for the most debt added in a 4 year term.

Maybe because most of his spending was geared towards helping Americans and not going towards warheads for ICE

Trump is massively overspending too, I’m just asking for some ideological consistency. You can’t selectively pretend to care about the deficit and expect me to take your criticism seriously.

Most of the spending under Trump is going to social welfare programs, just like every president in the modern era

I’ve been an outspoken critic of Trump. There are bad things that Trump has done that Biden didn’t do. This just happens to be something that Biden was the worst at in the history of our country, and this community was silent the entire time. Sure, maybe it was Biden’s staff that encouraged him to sign massive spending increases into law. If he wasn’t aware of what he was doing, thats an even bigger issue.

Biden’s issues pale in comparison to the systematic dismantling of our institutions of government, blatant corruption (pump and dumping the whole economy and using the presidency for personal and family enrichment), total disregard for decorum and decency, violations of human rights, war crimes and way more things. I’m willing to give Biden the pass because BBB and the infra bill were much needed especially coming out of the pandemic which fucked our economy. We took it lighter than the world

it's not ideologically inconsistent to acknowledge the clear and stark contrast between biden's reinvestment in a dying economy and trump's self indulgent, self enriching spending. you (like all current reactionaries) see trump criticized, start frothing at the mouth like a pavlovian dog about biden, and expect everybody else to entertain your hysterics

the topic and focus is the *current* president - which is not an exclusion of other presidents from criticism. do you understand that focus ≠ exclusion? are you familiar with "focus"?

Exactly lol there’s plenty to criticize Biden about particularly in foreign policy, apathy towards corporate power, and failure to lead the Democratic Party and i criticized it a lot last year. None of this holds a candle to the current admin which is the topic of convo
