Former convserative or republican what made you switch side. I used consider myself conservative. Seeing trump ability to brainwash the republicans party made me switch to more center.

I was a pretty big Trump supporter in high school but as his administration went on, and I saw the cult of personality build around him I just couldn’t support that anymore. After that, I was more of a moderate republican until Covid kicked in. That was really the death of any sort of conservative ideals I had.

Trump view on economy also pushed me away. Tarriff is not going to help our economy. As a traditional republicans view I do agree is a free market .

I’m no democrat and have my own issues with that platform, but until republicans move on from MAGA populism and the general stupidity around a lot of those ideas, I won’t be supporting them with my vote

Oh forgot to add the anti-Ukraine sentiment from isolationist parts of the party (JD Vance types) and some of the prominent Republican media commentators going bat shit crazy (Tucker Carlson for example)
