I agree we need more safeguards regarding homeschooling to insure it’s not keeping abuse victims out of the community’s ability to help but I would just like to add the majority of homeschool students out perform public school students academically. There’s also a fair amount of studies finding social/emotional success the same or better than public schooling HOWEVER THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN PULL YOUR KID OUT OF SCHOOL AND NEGLECT THEM, NOT TEACH THEM, AND EXPECT THEM TO BE SUCCESSFUL

It’s 100% more insane than the religious ones, even the religious ones teach kids to read and write, and do basic arithmetic. History and science are gonna be FUCKED but at least they’ll have the skills to learn those things as adults if you teach them how to read.

Exactly. “Well my kid wasn’t interested in reading” huh I wonder why, babies aren’t interested in eating either until you provide a titty in their face. If you don’t teach your [mentally capable] child to read by 5, or at the very latest 7, you should be arrested
