Israeli politics really is like “yeah the opposition has 67 seats but 19 of them are for minorities so we are in a complete political deadlock.”

There was literally a unity government with an Arab party in 2021

And the right wing parties left that government in 2022 and it fell apart because the Arabs refused to vote for legal protections for West Bank settlers.

Sounds like your issue is with democracy. Likud and Ra’am both voted together in that settlement bill

What are you even doing here bro. Are you trying to act like Israel *isnt* in a political deadlock right now because large sections of Together Yashar and Yisrael Beiteinu don’t want to work with Arabs

You’re claiming it’s because of the party’s ethnicity and not because of what the party’s platforms are. Your problem seems to be with a parliamentarian democracy

Oh my god bro you’re just goofy. The party platform they don’t like is “stop discriminating against us and murdering us”

That’s straight up not true. Why reduce Arab politicians to garbage nonsense they don’t represent? Gadi has 4 prerequisites to coalition with him: 1. A democratic, liberal, equal Israel as a Jewish state 2. Uphold their Declaration of Independence 3. Military or civilian service for all 4. Recognition of Hamas as a terror group whose army & rule in Gaza must be destroyed Ball is in the minority party’s court

#1. Defining Israel as a Jewish state. I wonder why people who aren’t Jews might not like that. #3 I wonder why Arabs don’t want to be drafted to kill their brethren in defense of West Bank settlers. #4 oh I wonder why Arabs aren’t on board with razing Gaza to the ground Really hard questions 🤔

“I can’t believe that the minority doesn’t like the country they live in being defined as explicitly for another ethnicity”

Like I said, sounds like your qualm is with democracy. That’s how voting works, when you have the minority opinion, you get the minority of votes

The majority of my state used to support segregation. I still think segregation is shitty. Sometimes the majority are racist fuckwads and I’m gonna call them out. Fucking duh.
