I try not to say any administration is either the best or worst at anything in history given there’s been 47 and being at the very top or bottom seems of them seems statistically unlikely but there’s certainly a lot of things going on right now that I don’t think have ever been seen before and don’t have been tolerated in the past so you may be right honestly

There seems to be a lot of confusion on this thread between sucking in general and corruption.

I don’t really see what this has to do with corruption, perhaps I am ignorant, but it seems more like a racist atrocity which is terrible, but I’d not consider it to be “corruption” in the sense of using public office for private gain

They did bad things but that was the law of the land at the time they weren’t necessarily “corrupt” just bad people lmfao slavery technically was legal as much as we hate to say it but eventually times changed and we abolished it an amended our constitution

He did it anyhow despite the Supreme Court saying no. He truly acted as a king.

um ok so if what this administration was doing was considered legal under our laws, you wouldn’t consider it corrupt? i’m not understanding how legality changes the fact that all of that shit was evil and an abuse of power. they’re inherently corrupt systems bro

They mean legally/politically corrupt rather than morally

Yeah like corruption sucks, but sucking doesn’t necessarily mean someone is corrupt. And I don’t think that distinction is clicking with some people here

Trump does Watergate level shit every other day at this point and nobody bats an eye. Andrew Jackson was a piece of shit but he wasn’t bought and paid for quite like Trumpr

Hey didn’t see this but yeah that person answered my question if it was allowed by law and was the consistent norm for example for the attorney general to be working directly under the potus and to be his personal attorney he can send after and prosecute their political enemies than sure if that’s how our gov operated but it doesn’t

During Washington Jefferson adam’s and all their times slavery was a thing it was morally wrong and not a good thing but it wasn’t necessarily against any rules or norms for the time as of today in 2025 slavery has been abolished and is unconstitutional so if a potus today wanted to own slaves like Washington did it would be way different compared to when Washington was a slave owner does that make sense?

Andrew Johnson was corrupt as well but I’d still give it to Trump u got 1.J6 2. Political prosecutions 3. Meme coin 4. Qatari jet 4. Unconstitutional tariffs 5. Suing the media 5. Unconstitutional deportations 6. Declaring abrtitary things emergencies to use powers like the alien enimes act were being invaded by Venezuela currently as we speak according to potus 7. The widespread propaganda Tylenol causes autism 8. The unhinged bombings being posted on TruthSocial and we’re only 8 months in

bro why are we justifying slavery in this comment section??? constitutionality doesn’t suddenly make it more acceptable or less abhorrent. if child trafficking was legal under the constitution now, would you think that this is more acceptable than the current administration doing anything else that isn’t in the constitution? this is just a dumbass argument

like ts doesn’t make any sense, it wouldn’t be WAY different, you do know that people shouldn’t be enslaved regardless of what a law says, right? the fact that was even a law put in place is corrupt.
