
your nationality would be Chinese and your children’s nationality would also be Chinese. Your race or ethnicity would not change nor would it be relevant. French is not a racial category and it couldn’t really constitute an ethnicity due to its widespread colonialism across the globe.
If it’s your first language or you’ve been bilingual since childhood, if it were me I’d identify as French via the language. A lot of Canadians self-identify with the French language too. 🤷🏼♀️ It’s like you and I are speaking English but I’m American from America, not English from England.
