NAFTA really hurt Midwest blue collar workers, especially rural. On top of that, rural communities don’t really get the resources they need for things like education. Would fundamentally change how they voted if we actually went in and funded their schools that wasn’t solely based off who lives there.
Additionally most states follow Texas's lead with curriculum since they do it first and they produce the most textbooks in the US. A republican owned state, not saying that that's why our public school system is failing, but it definitely doesn't help when science becomes political...
Look, I’m the last person here to tell you NOT to vote Democrat. It runs deeper than a “this or that”. We’re talking about people who are disillusioned by both parties. After Obama won, no one thought Republicans would ever win again…until the guy who essentially promised to break everything showed up. Logic doesn’t trump human emotion. They’re angry and resentful for being left behind.
I disagree after Obama of course it would be a republican. It always switches? He promised to fix everything, then broke it all bc he's a liar. He was a liar before he got into politics. And the same ppl saying celebs shouldn't get into politics are the people worshipping a celeb who got into politics. Idek what you're arguing at this point. Obviously both sides are corrupt as fuck but as least one side isn't actively inciting violence against "radical seditionist violent socialism communist dem
Overall, yes, of course I agree. Like again, who knows if OOP was even smart enough to make the argument. I’m saying there are more than enough people who are disillusioned with both sides in rural areas and Democrats need to offer real solutions for rural communities regardless if they’re not a massive voter base or not. Though there is an even larger issue of right vs left going on that is hard to really describe.
