A lot of ppl rlly need the learn the difference between race, ethnicity, and nationality 😭. Babes, Latino and Hispanic aren’t races. Latino is an ethnicity and Hispanic means u come from a Spanish speaking country.
Hispanic means you come from the “new world” Spain I.e. central and South America. It’s a distinctly separate Spanish from European Spaniards because of the intermixing with natives which gives Hispanics their unique culture. It’s actually really interesting to learn about

Ooh ok. I’ve only ever seen it means u come from a Spanish speaking country not Hispaniola. I mean it makes sense.

Yeah it’s a pet peeve of mine too. The language you speak does not change your race.

Latino and Hispanic isn’t a race. Don’t argue with me, argue with the ones who created race in the first place😭 I think we should abolish race and go solely on ethnicity

Race wasn't "invented" you can't abolish it

Anonymous#34w
The concept of race as we know it was. Over the course of a few hundred years starting in the Enlightenment Era

You probably think Ben Franklin invented electricity
-1
Anonymous#34w
He added to our understanding of electricity. But to claim that race wasn’t invented during the enlightenment era with the contributions of multiple pseudo scientists is just a disregard of history😭

You’re describing Latino, which is New World and includes Brazilians/NW Portuguese as well. Hispanic just refers to Spanish speaking places and does include Spain.

You’re correct. That’s why there are places like Equatorial Guinea, for example, that are Hispanic but not Latino.
