Billionaires aren’t scared of losing money. Billionaires are scared their taxes will work, and that we will be uplifted out being their permanent underclass. Capitalism requires a working poor that can be subjugated due to having no other options. If we have options, or our basic needs met (healthcare, childcare, housing) then we are less reliant on billionaires and the profit motive for our daily needs. That’s terrifying for them.
