The main issues with nuclear are: 1. It costs more than renewables. Utility companies aren’t investing in it because it’s just not a good return on investment compared to renewables 2. Renewables + storage have seen their costs plummet over the past couple decades. Nuclear has been around with costs stagnating or even increasing

There’s a lot of misconceptions about nuclear waste. Nuclear waste isn’t that green glowing goo in barrels btw
