I think, more importantly, the entirety of the left would absolutely depose the person from power. Almost overnight the support would collapse for the candidate. As for the right, however, it’s mental gymnastics all day long for the guy

are you so sure about that? the democrats in power merely pretends like that’s the truth so they can weaponize everyone’s compassion against them to essentially hold them at psychological gunpoint to so they think they have no choice but to advocate harder for the democratic party. they are liars. they don’t give a shit about us. they just wanna get reelected. if this wasn’t the case our political climate wouldn’t be so trashed from the past decade. they thrive off the turmoil the right creates.
