No of course not but whenever gun violence is brought up it's rarely mentioned that a majority is black on black violence because the narrative in the media is that we have a problem with school shooter type violence. I think the reasons that it takes up such a massive amount of the toll are multifaceted and go back to things like the CIA funneling crack into Black inner city populations but continue with stuff like the music industry promoting violence today.
I think points about the music industry encouraging violence are fundamentally hackneyed, art imitates life, and so violence is gonna beget violent artistic expressions, not the other way around imo. Other than that, yeah I agree with you I just had to check and make sure you weren’t on that right wing bullshit about “black crime” lmao
Not sure where you’ve been but I think liberals know this better than anyone. I don’t see republicans coming up with initiatives in black communities to target the systemic issues of gun violence or recognizing the past trauma of the community and looking for ways to grasp that and move forward stronger.
I mean I vote for them on a lesser-evil basis, because while I have my disagreements with the Democratic Party, I have more and deeper disagreements with the Republican Party, so if it’s The Imperfect But Mostly Okay Guy or the Straight Up Backwards Guy, then yeah I’m voting for the imperfect one.
