Mamdani made a post entirely speaking in Chinese to tell people about Broadway ticket sales. Somehow the right wing media will make this into something evil but I think it’s really awesome to see the mayor trying to connect with his constituents like this

Yeah sure it’s not *always* literal but it’s not like it didn’t originally mean that. Plus Mamdani has fairly high approval ratings in Chinese-American areas like Flushing, Sunset park, Manhattan Chinatown, etc. so I don’t really know what you’re on about anyway.

Woah, Mamdani has high approval ratings from immigrants that are used to a culture of leftist totalitarianism? That's almost surprising

His next target demographic is clearly Eurotard ethnopluralist commies

Yeah all the immigrants who loved “leftist totalitarianism” they came to New York City lmfao

I feel like you are searching for the wrong meaning out of my comment on purpose, but I'll give another example regardless. East Germany isn't in favor of Soviets or Russians but they still can clearly be seen as influenced by a culture of leftist totalitarianism.

Why didn’t all the Eastern European people in Brighton Beach vote for Mamdani too then? It just seems wildly reductionist to say all those people voted for him because they’re “used to leftist totalitarianism” as if they’re not an actual voting bloc that cares about things like the economy or immigration

Eastern Europeans are ethnopluralist, I just said this is his next target demographic

Also no, I am treating them as an actual voting bloc, and at the same time recognizing the cultural factors that Chinese immigrants experience.

And because he “targets” them with appeals to “leftist totalitarianism”, they will vote for him next time around? The group of Soviet immigrants who historically vote Republican due to their skepticism of big government and communism? That seems laughable honestly, and I think it’s just further showing you’re reducing these people to “they came from XYZ country of course they love leftist totalitarianism”

I don't think they vote for republicans because of big government, at least not anymore. They do so because the average GOP republican aligns better with their ethnopluralist views, all Mamdani has to switch up is this and he will be speaking their language.
