Why does it always seem like the people who argue that “both sides are bad” or “both sides do it” only use that argument when it favors republicans?

I do this, but my argument does sometimes favor Democrats as well. The reason that I do is because I do not agree entirely with one side. I do not care for policies or beliefs on both sides. Example, I believe that enforcing immigration is a good thing, but the way that ICE is doing it is not the best way of going about it. I also say that hoping people know that I am open to hearing reasonable and logical arguments for or against my opinions.
