The story of sodom was probably a true story, at least the fireball destroying it part. There’s evidence of a bolide impact in the right area at the right time That said, they probably didn’t know why god would punish them so they made up a story about the gay

We are still called to love foreigners, since everyone is made in God’s image. However we can love foreigners and enact pragmatic border policies at the same time :)

oh that’s interesting, I didn’t know that. i love trying to puzzle out the original reason for old religious stories and rules. i.e the food laws specifically seem to be based in trying to avoid food poisoning
