the point of my comment is that i know what it is. i talk about what it is. i have read much about it. i have taken classes on it. i am commenting on what others think it is, which is something id like to receive comment on rather than quizzing me on it and immediately shutting down others providing their unaltered thoughts on it

It should be easy to explain it if you’ve read so much about it.

Capitalism is an economic system where most capital goods are privately owned, people are free to enter into voluntary exchanges, and market prices rather than central planning determines resource allocation.

If you were to be asked to objectively, NOT subjectively, criticize the system of capitalism - identify its weaknesses, flaws or shortcomings - what would you tell me? /gen

When you talk about weaknesses, the first question has to be “compared to what?” Capitalism, taken as a whole, has outperformed every alternative we’ve tried. A fair criticism, though, is that it rewards marketable skills, and not everyone has the capacity or opportunity to develop them. That’s why most supporters of a free-enterprise system still back a basic social safety net for people who can’t realistically provide for themselves.
