I think that no matter what side you are on we can agree we haven’t had good choices in 3-4 of our last elections for president.

Obama vs. McCain was the last good election we had, Obama vs. Romney was a shit show that foreshadowed how bad 2016 would be, then in 2020 we hit rock bottom. In 2024 we somehow managed to nominate the same old fucks as last time and hit an even further rock bottom. I would say it can’t get any worse from here but that’s what I thought in 2016 and 2020 as well

I just think that every option we have had is just unrealistic in their goals for one reason or another

How were Bernie's goals unrealistic?

I think Biden was a good choice I also think Harris would have been fine

“Universal healthcare” is something that Obama worked on through Medicare/medicaid, like these things are not unrealistic, y’all just thinking too small because you think our government is that useless

Free college? I will fully admit I am not as up to speed on Bernie’s goals so tell me if I’m wrong. But without dismantling the system in which colleges hoard money it’s taken out of everybody else’s hard earned money.

Well I suppose we got Kamala in 2024 but for all intents and purposes I think people were hardly more excited about her than Biden. And for most of the cycle it was Biden running

I mean if you’re not up to speed on what he wants to do and how he’d do it, how can you say he’s unrealistic?

I think Biden proved through being president he was a bad choice same for a lot of trumps time. Kamala just seemed like a worse choice than them combined.

Genuinely would love to hear your breakdown on why Biden and Harris were good choices

I literally couldn't care less if my tax dollars go to paying for American education instead of billionaire tax cuts and handouts. In fact I'd be thrilled.

Biden, to me, did good as president. And Harris’ policy positions seemed more liberal than his but also accounted for a lot of economic issues.

Sure, without getting into details, and obviously we can it’s just to avoid a giant block of text. I think Biden addressed a lot of the social and economic issues that people had been facing. Then I can talk about Harris too if you’d like What would you want to know specifically?

I think that’s fair, sure just like your general synopsis on Harris

Okay, yeah. Harris’ economic plan was similar to Biden’s, and under Biden we saw some pretty good growth and stability. Unemployment rates were declining to my knowledge, people were being given a bit more leverage in the union v company tables. And she was planning on heading towards that too. I think another thing that we saw that she was going to address, was going to be civil and social issues like blatant racism or discrimination. Which as a minority, slightly important to me lol

I think it’s also just very based on where you’re from for me. I felt as though the price is in my region for groceries gas, etc. has only went up under Biden and has was down under Trump in both terms.

I’d agree generally. But inflation rates globally had been increasing, and the US was one of the only places where it was steadfast or declining. I also acknowledge that it got expensive but a lot of that I think is from the Tax cuts and jobs act Federal tax code from 2018.
