I think this mindset is kind of secretly a psyop to make us comfortable with bad options. If we keep telling ourselves all politicians are pure evil without exception then we never end up asking for more from them.

Not that there aren’t pure evil politicians. Reagan, Clinton, Trump, Kissinger, Nixon, all pure evil in my eyes fo sho. But by pretending we can’t ever have a politician who looks out for their constituents we never end up getting anything better
