I voted for her. But she didn’t lose because of progressives. She lost because she was unlikable, and incapable of representing change in any capacity. The people want change Stop blaming leftists, start blaming the people who keep telling you to settle

I feel like this election specifically was probably the worse election to try pushing back against establishment dems. Mainly voting blue was going to be purely for damage control. And the reason for that was because trumps party released their threat of project 2025 which outlined quite literally everything they intended to do and have followed through on, so we all knew what was to occur if he won. This election was either further descent to the right, or stay put where we were

bullshit. a progressive would’ve won because people would’ve actually been eager to vote.

Zohran is an easy example of this.

Such as who? What progressive would’ve won? You guys have this idealized candidate that you swear would’ve won everyone over but that person simply doesn’t exist unfortunately

Well, bernie in 2016 for one.

Kamala would’ve won if she’d ran as an actual progressive

Zohran probably would if he was allowed to run.

Bernie couldn’t win now for a myriad of reasons, but a suped up Tim Walz with a more intense and aggressive populist left stance could easily fill his role for the new voter base in 2028, if he was allowed too. Which he won’t be. Gear up for Gavin “we went a little too hard on that trans stuff” Newsom and a third loss for the dems.

I love Bernie too but he quite literally had the opportunity, ran, and we all saw that didn’t pan out. I can count on two hands the number of actual progressives that we currently have in any kind of office. There’s not nearly enough progressive candidates actually running, especially not ones that have experience or any kind of leadership abilities and that’s the problem in my opinion. I’d love to vote for a progressive too but they usually don’t exist

Right, but when they DO run, like in ny, they fucking win. Which is the point. Sure they may be few and far between, but that’s a for now problem.

And please, Bernie’s problem in 2016 wasn’t the voters it was the dems.

I don’t think that’s the best example because of course New York City is capable of actually electing a progressive, considering how progressive New York is. The same cannot be said about a majority of all the other major cities in the US. Do you know how many people outside of NY have a problem with zohran?

Ny is not the only example tho. Only the most prominent. Also, ny isnt uniquely progressive. All American cities are progressive enough to elect a progressive candidate.

I disagree with that. Being progressive has been villainized by many people and until that can be broken down, there’s no chance we’ll ever pull off a progressive president. Starting with lower level positions is a great start and more feasible but again, candidates are needed

Well we certainly aren’t getting a liberal centrist one. They’re even less popular.

How do you make sure you’re not in a bubble? Biden had the most votes of any president ever. Most people support more moderate candidates, they’re just not as loud on social media

How are Hillary and Kamala doing? Biden won during a national disaster.

Hillary won the popular vote, and probably would have won without Russian interference. Harris had 3 months to campaign and had to walk the line of distancing herself from Biden to stand apart while being a part of his administration. Biden did win in a national disaster, but he also had pretty good midterm showings, keeping the senate.

That’s hard cope. Who was running before Kamala? Biden. Are you saying you think Biden was going to win?

I mean Russian interference was real. It just didn’t cot Hillary the election really.
