People in positions of authority abusing that power in heinous and Draconian ways is not evidence that they need to be wiped out, and I don’t think anyone is arguing that Sharia Law is good by saying that genocide against Muslim people is bad.

I don’t see anyone defending sharia law However I do see people saying that entire populations shouldn’t be killed en masse because of their religion

Theocracy is bad and every single one in history has committed atrocities in the name of religious law, that doesn’t mean everyone of the religion that some theocrat uses to justify atrocity is worthy of condemnation. If that was the case, I got bad news about Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Shintoism, etc. because literally every religion has been used by powerful people to justify atrocities at some point or another. If not right now.
