It is a big deal because we need to pamper everybody or else we run the risk of their feelings being very very hurt

Someone posted a hypothetical, but I think this originally arose from someone making a scene on an AirAsia (Malaysia-based) flight from Chongqing to Kuala Lumpur because the announcements were only in English and Malay. A Chinese woman was pissed that they didn’t speak to her in Mandarin, made a scene, wouldn’t turn her phone on airplane mode, and was escorted off the plane
