Political parties are never part of the government, and even if you want to make the claim that “political parties become part of the government when they are in power”, their decision to not hold a primary is still an internal operation that occurred entirely outside of the purview of the federal government.

If I were to argue that Trump is a king, I would never build that argument by claiming that conservatives are calling Trump king. I believe that Trump is trying to consolidate power behind the executive branch, and that is why I believe he wants to be a king.
