Yeah so you aren’t capable of having adult conversations. DEI initiatives HAVE done so, and it is the basis of their function. I GET that the IDEA is to provide more opportunities to minorities (a good idea), but in practice they always end up being restrictive (enforcing minimums ) that when not able to be met, require the lowering of requirements. At ANY rate, hiring on the basis of race in ANY situation will ALWAYS be wrong

you do realize it isn’t just poc that benefit from dei right? it’s also women, disabled people, lgbtq people, and veterans. the biggest group that benefitted from dei was white women

The reason why this point doesn’t make sense is because different DEI initiatives and Affirmative Action have been around for decades and we still see that the majority of people in any given field or at any given university is White people. Im not saying thats good or bad thats just a fact. I think its insulting to think that people who have benefited from these different initiatives (Veterans, women, older people, disabled, race, or rural) only made it due to a standard being lowered.
