If anything, from my experience, children of conservative parents tend to grow to be some of the most ardent progressives lmao. Charlie and other conservatives just don’t see it that way because, to them, children are property of the parent and an extension of them

Tbh I’m sure there’s plenty of cases where children revolt against their parents ideology, but I imagine on net children are more politically aligned with their parents than not
