yeah like most people were talking about how Secretary Kegseth’s speech to the military was stupid and whatnot, and yeah, it was stupid, but that misses the larger point that they’re coup-proofing the military by going after politically disloyal officers.

Sure, you can argue that the coup-proofing strategy is ineffective, but you certainly can’t argue that it’s not what they’re trying to do.

I know what they’re doing, or attempting to do, I’m just saying it’s going to end up being a fools errand. It’s a catch 22. Kick enough officers out you have an entire OPFOR command structure with enough volunteers to oppose the government, or cause the military to break ranks and overthrow you by keeping those officers in opposition.
