The system was set up to be a democracy, what the people want should be reflected in their leaders. Instead it’s turned into leaders pretending to care about what the people want and then for some reason those same people care about “owning” the other side while the very same leaders they voted for fuck them over

I mean yeah our government was created with a First-Past-The-Post voting system, which inherently creates a two-party duopoly through strategic voting, but I don’t think having a two-party system necessarily means you have to treat politics like team sports, or makes it any better for an individual engaging at that level with it
