I’m told from family in coworkers of both Ukrainian and Israeli connection, Israel apparently thinks it occupies much of Kiev as well, which is a really unwise strategy for potential conflicts in the coming decades. Lebanon sort of makes sense because of an oil route (their execution of their moves there isn’t said to be done in good faith but I can’t verify witness accounts) Having that large of a footprint in Ukraine seems like an absolute chess blunder long term.
