I think there’s a misunderstanding here. Islam is not in legislation yet, and in fact legislation is being passed to protect us from that. Christianity has, in terms of it being used as a basis for many of our laws and the country in general. I don’t see a problem with laws being passed that conform with the constitution and benefit our society, even if there’s a religion backing them, as long as they don’t force any religious beliefs upon others. For example, I am pro-choice. The reason why —
— islam is pushing me more to the right is because of other countries. Not necessarily what is currently happening in the US legislature, but the possibility of what could happen based on what happened to other countries as well as the seeds being planted in ours. I do not think the religion is inherently bad or judge anyone for practicing it, I think that there are bad people utilizing it for political agendas that are harmful at large and it’s becoming a huge issue globally
This is fear mongering. Literally no Muslim politician has stated goals of forcing islam on people. On the other hand states like Louisiana, Arkansas, and Texas, have tried to (if not succeeded) in forcing schools to display the 10 Commandments. The BBB references Christianity with respect to abortion. I mean one side is ACTUALLY forcing their values on you and one has done literally nothing but have smear campaigns conducted against them by republicans with absolutely zero basis.
