Has anyone considered the physical effects of the COVID illness (not the psychological effects of the lockdown) as a factor for why Gen Z and Gen A are so weird? Does COVID degrade brain tissue or something?

I think it’s mostly just the psychological effects. Covid did impact young people, of course, but the physical effects were far more significant with the elderly or previously unhealthy people

I think this undermines the incredibly major impacts psychological effects have. Kids born right before or during Covid are years behind in development, school aged children lost up to 5 years of education in some places and were passed along, social spaces were completely moved to online spaces that have never been capable of supporting healthy relationships and socialization, and they were told to just forget about it and move on.

I feel like it’s mostly just the psychological effects of lockdown. COVID is known to cause brain fog and I had a professor who suffered from some sort of brain damage after getting a really bad case of it though so it’s not completely out of the realm of possibility
