was trying to make a political post on my school yikyak and all the comments quickly taught me that i go to school with a bunch of politically ignorant children “focus on what you can control” “try being more positive” wtf

I think that happens at a lot of universities. There’s a time and a place for ‘being more positive’ but this is NOT that. We need to act and spread awareness. We’ve found that voting alone simply does nothing.

I find that people fall into 1 of 2 camps: either they support whatever it is you were posting about and didn’t want to start an argument or they feel like everything is so far gone that no amount of talking about it will fix anything

Camp 1 sadly, people would rather dismiss uncomfortable thoughts than enter a real conversation

ugh. it’s so frustrating. i can’t understand how im the same age as these people, getting the same exact education, but i care so much more about what’s going on around us. it makes no sense to me.

I feel you on that. The best thing to do is to find like minded people and realize that you aren’t alone
