In reality the Republicans were always like this, but before 2016 they pretended to be what you listed.

No, I’d rather a hearing to be had where both parents get to say their wishes for the child. That wasn’t allowed to happen.

Because the family was separated. The white man was left alone while his colored wife and colored child (who was a citizen) were taken away without him getting to fight against it. That man’s rights as a father were stripped from him too, all because his daughter happened to have an immigrant mother.

Bro the let the kids go with their parents bc the PARENTS WANTED THEM TO. Legally those children are welcome in the us anytime. So no they were not deported, try again dumbass

He can put his kids on a plane to America if he wanted to. If you’re actually advocating for the the separation of families just say that. The point stands those us citizen kids are still legally allowed in the US.

Nope, the mom was. The dad was born here.

Brother, no matter WHAT they’re separated??? Dad - born in America, US citizen Mom - immigrant on expired visa, married an American man (typically allowed under any other president) Daughter - born in America, US citizen So, either the mom is alone, or the dad.

Again, the dad got ZERO say. Imagine if you got a divorce, but then got ZERO say over custody of your kids. You’d be livid. Now imagine instead of divorce, your wife of years and your citizen daughter are ripped from you without consent.

No I get that that sucks. But if I went to a foreign country illegally and married a citizen and had a daughter, and never became legal, I would know that this scenario was a possibility

But the dad didn’t do that. Neither did the daughter.

Again, the definition of “illegal” is very nuanced. There’s those who come in undocumented. There’s those who overstayed a visa. There’s those who got laid off, and their visa expired while they searched for a new job. We need to understand the circumstances on a case by case basis. We can’t just go “illegal. Not illegal, illegal, illegal”.

I wouldn’t give a fuck if due process was actually given. But it’s not.
