I love how when Joseph Smith got called out on the whole “Gold plates” thing and was asked to recite what they said from memory and couldn’t, his excuse was “uh, the angels are now mad that I’ve been told this so they sent me a new revised version! Here’s that!” And it’s almost the exact same thing. And people BELIEVED it lol

I mean kinda, but most old world religion was “here’s some parables to encourage you to be a good person” that overtime people took as absolute truths, and ofc manipulated and used as excuses to spread hate. Mormonism was literally a snake oil salesman trying to figure out how to scam people out of money and their wives/children, and hate brown people ofc. Instead of parables he just gave straight up fictional tales and demanded people believe them or go to Mormon flowchart hell
