Here’s the thing about Vance: unlike Trump, he’s actually passionate about implementing fucked up policies instead of just doing so for brownie points to win votes. However, he lacks all the presence and status Trump holds with conservatives.
Yall realize that Vance becomes president if Trump dies right? You don’t know how much worse things can get

Vance has become a bitter, passionately political individual after his upbringing and he wants to take that out on the country, but he’s just so incompetent from a public appearance standpoint that I have major doubts about his ability to maintain popularity within his party. Trump has turned the GOP into a game of optics at this point and Vance just doesn’t have it.

Exactly. Trump has changed a lot of the Republican base. They’re most convinced by charm and confidence, both things Vance lacks. He can’t lie through his teeth like Trump can and people aren’t going to be as all believing to him as they are Trump

A Vance presidency would be like being stung by the world’s angriest hornet: excruciating but mercifully short lived. Trump, by comparison, has been like chronic arthritis. Not immediately excruciating, but it just drags on and on and on and builds in pain to the point that it becomes unbearable.

I think I see what you’re getting at, but he has demonstrably lied through his teeth and gotten away with it numerous times. He used to be a democrat, used to say he hated Trump, and I’m sure there are dozens of other examples of beliefs most people have forgotten ever existed for him. He absolutely lacks the charisma and cult following, but he is unfortunately smart and he is an effective political shapeshifter

I think what signals a likely failure on his part for me is that he’s a downgrade from Trump’s personality. MAGA has built itself exclusively on big talk from big personalities. It doesn’t even need to have payoff so long as it’s hype enough for them. You can’t downgrade from Trump on that, you have to maintain it or go even bigger, and I think Vance taking over actually has the potential to throw off them snagging the next election if he can’t keep that up.

Trump won 2024 because his bold personality and big promises have managed to grab the attention of undeclared and otherwise apathetic voters who don’t look into politics nearly as much as you or me. He gave them something surface level to put their faith in, and I seriously doubt Vance will have that same effect on that crowd.

Trump is an A-1 gaslighter, he can convince his voters of things that literally aren’t happening. Vance doesn’t have that game and lacks respect from even his own party. Even Fox News was reporting on the memes people made of him but they’d never dare do that if it was Trump. He will not be able to get away with as much because he’s not THE guy. Trump has had nearly 10 years of republican support. Vance just got his first ounce of notoriety from this

Trump can shout “THEYRE EATING THE DOGS” in a debate and his supporters don’t bat an eye because, well, it’s Trump! They’ll believe it and run with it because he’s owning da libruls and that’s all they need. He stands out to undeclared voters for this too. I really, really doubt Vance is gonna maintain that level of “appeal” like Trump has
