This law should not have been passed anyway. It was made to represent the enslaved people in the south to get electoral votes, but they also obviously didn’t represent enslaved people’s interests. Law’s even worse than degredation, it gave the slavers votes and power.

Slavery always finds a way to be worse than I thought it was. I try to be educated about it, but god DAMN some of those enslavers were not human
