Do you know what “disproportionate” means? Transgender people represent a tiny fraction of the overall population, so they also represent a tiny fraction of the prison / sex offender population. The latter percentage is larger than the former would suggest, thus trans people are overrepresented in sexual abuse statistics. Also, don’t you people hate sex crime stats because women don’t feel safe making reports about it? What about men who are sexually assaulted by women and don’t report it?
Men are overrepresented in sex crime statistics in every place where sex crime statistics are collected. This is not news. Transgender people commit a disproportionate amount of sex crimes, but the numbers are too small to really make any clear determinations. 95% of sex criminals are citizens, yes, but about 7% of America is non-citizens. Pretty proportionate so also not news. Your moral panic is a disproportionate response to reality
according to ucla, transgender people represent 1% (2.8 million adults) of the us population. If ops numbers are correct and transgender people represent LESS than 1% of sexual abusers, that would mean that trans people are actually underrepresented in sexual abuse statistics. Or at the very least it’s close to proportional.
